lyrics

Never Known
In the morning I’ve been minute-made. I’ve been overpaid in a currency of knowing I am nothing of value tothe world. I’m told that out of Nottingham I won’t ever be heard, and I believe you like I always do - when youhaven’t had your cigarette and raining becomes hail and cheeks are bleeding through biting in the night. When the gardener is weeding, I won’t put up a fight. But I won’t engage where I can’t belong. I’ve been feelingbored of your sad song where one thing is said and another is done. I’ve been wondering whose side you areon. You’re a liar. Yeah, there’s a group of you. With your golden words of open doors and windows made of glass that’s stained with money from a war established in the minds and the pockets of the poor. The desperate for ground on which to stand, the people you offered your helping hand, are falling by the waysideas you go on. Wish I’d never known anyone. ‘Cause I won’t engage where I can’t belong, and I’ve been feelingbored of your sad song where one thing is said and another is done. I would rather lose than be led on. Well,go on then, if you’re sick of it all. If you’re feeling down, make a choice and a loss profound. A hole in thecurtain you’re hiding behind. See the World is oh so great, yet you feel so small. Like you’ll never be nothing. No. Suddenly you are giving up on the hope of a hope meaning anything. Feeling innocent. Not sointeresting. Marketed as someone that I could never be, like I’m holding out my hand and waiting for thecane. Then, “Oh No!” - it’s straight to my thigh, my teeth are yellow and I’m losing my sight, or from the side I look nothing at all like the kind of guy anyone might want to call.
